Position Summary:
Responsible and accountable for the development and application of standards and research to enhance the quality of patient and family care.
Position Expectations and Responsibilities:
Expected to have the ability to direct the activity of others on a unit. Expected to have excellent assessment skills and problem solving techniques. Expected to have organizational and time management skills. Expected to have knowledge of Microsoft Office software and other healthcare systems. Expected to maintain knowledge of hospital and department Fire and Safety Regulations, H.O.B.S. Plan, Disaster and Hurricane Plans, and Infection Control Policies. Expected to have knowledge of Local, State, and Federal regulations related to specific nursing areas. Expected to have intermediate mathematical skills. Expected to have the ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Expected to manage complex patient care and ensure cost effective nursing practice. Expected to anticipate and evaluate technological, economical, social and environment factors to facilitate efficient health care delivery for optimal outcomes. Expected to advance the nursing profession by anticipating and implementing theory-based practice. Expected to develop, evaluate and revise standards, policies, and procedures within a specialty area. Expected to collaborate with others as a practitioner, educator, consultant, researcher, and leader. Expected to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Expected to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and general public.
Minimum Education and/or Experience Required:&
Master's Degree (M.S.) from a college or university AND Five years of clinical experience related to area of practice Licensure/Regulation/Certification: Florida license as a registered nurse, BLS and ACLS certifications, Certification in specialty area, preffered, Membership in related specialty organization, preffered *Incumbent may be required to perform emergency duty before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency, crisis situation or disaster (man-made or natural) including evacuation sites.
