Blog Post: Dentist Needed for Federal Prison in Laredo, TX
posted Friday, August 7, 2009 3:55 PM
The next time you're in the Dentist's office (and I just got my reminder card in the mail to book my appointment), think about asking your Dentist if they've ever worked in an environment outside of their practice.
You'll be surprised that most Dentists, Physicians, Nurses and many other healthcare professionals often have experience in many different industries. The traditional hospital or doctors office is not their only option, and many have often thought about working in a detention center or prison clinic. Especially in a Federal facility, where a State license does not have to be acclimated to the State they are working in. Aside from the perk I just mentioned, that Docs don't have to change their licensure to work in any State's Federal Prison, the benefits of working in a Federal prison are the lack of major surgeries that Dentists would have to perform. The every day treatments, check ups, infection control and screenings are regular day to day responsibilities for them however; no longer do they drill or perform root canals. So if you find yourself in a Dentist's chair soon, say ahhh...and ask, "have you ever thought about working in a Federal facility?" And if they say, "yes", send them to www.geogroup.com Have a happy weekend!
