We are currently seeking a Collection Specialist!

The primary role of this position is to make a difference in our neighbor's financial lives by providing the highest quality of service to both internal and external members. The individual in this role will perform in compliance with BrightStar Credit Union-s policies, procedures, and departmental goals. In addition, the individual will communicate and make arrangements with members to facilitate the repayment of delinquent loans and credit cards.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
* Contact members by telephone and/or mail to identify and resolve repayment deficiencies, and establish proper loan and credit card repayment
* Provide outstanding service to each internal and external member as defined by our Service Standards and Promises
* Process post charge off, in-house collection activities
* Perform other related duties as assigned

Skills / Requirements

* One to two years of similar or related collections experience
* High school diploma or GED
* A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to courtesy and tact
* Capacity to handle extensive personal contact with members, usually of a personal and sensitive nature
* Ability to motivate or influence others. Fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) and establishing outside contacts is essential
* Must be able to hear and speak clearly in person, and by phone
* Must have personal computer skills, and be able to sit for long periods of time
* Bi-lingual skills are a plus
