Jobing Description

Under general supervision, the Communications and Events Specialist will contribute to Achieva‚s success by promoting and maintaining the public image of the credit union and the services offered.

Primary responsibilities will include coordination and management of all Achieva events, copy writing, public relations, and serving as branch liaison. Also responsible for the ordering and tracking of promotional items, and managing overall messaging throughout communications.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 Manages all Achieva events, including: Box Car Rally, Reindeer Trot and two Scrapbook Crops. Also manages branch grand openings and other events as assigned. Tracks all sponsorships and expenses, and prepares financial reports.

 Plans and coordinates regular educational seminars for members and the community including, but not limited to, Saturday Seminars.

 Communicates upcoming Chamber of Commerce event information to branch managers to encourage the development of community ties and promotes networking by attending when needed.

 Develops and posts Message on Hold, Electronic Signage, and in-branch TV graphics.

 Writes copy for Achieva statement messages, credit card statements, email blasts, Pinellas Educator, and more.

 Writes and distributes news announcements to local and trade press.

 Proofreads marketing materials prior to printing/production. Ensures accuracy, message consistency and regulatory compliance.

 Serves as marketing liaison to branches, and manages Marketing Ambassador Program.

 Develops and maintains relationships with area media representatives and/or reporters in order to promote credit union events, new products and services. Ensures the credit union maintains an up to date and accurate media contact list.

 Plans and coordinates participation in public/community events, including SPCA Pet Walk, Habitat for Humanity, and others.

 Orders and tracks inventory of all promotional/giveaway items for campaigns and events.

 Manages marketing of specialty accounts, including: Partners in Health and Partners in Education, in alignment with corporate goals. (New members/accounts)

Skills / Requirements

EDUCATION AND SKILL EXPERIENCE
* The ideal candidate will have a four year degree in marketing or business-related field or equivalent work experience.
* Must have exceptionally strong writing skills.
* Organized, detail oriented and focused on execution.
* Must have strong PC, and presentation skills.
* Must be a self starter.
* Must be social, and truly LIKE people!
* Marketing savvy - must have a good understanding of marketing and communication strategies and tactics.
* Active listening skills with a strong sense of customer service.
* Must be dependable, reliable, flexible and be able to work independently.
* Must be accountable to goals and deadlines of position function.
* Must have strong time management skills.
* Knowledge of public relations is desired.
