Summary of Position: Describe the major objective of this position:
Coordinates job development activities for the South Center. Networks and liaisons with community organizations and employers to develop job opportunities for Chapman Partnership residents. Assists residents in developing resumes, interviewing skills, and other aids in finding employment. Creates a job bank with verifiable job orders for permanent (as opposed to day labor) positions that may be accessed by residents or Case Managers on their behalf. As needed, arranges interviews and transportation to interviews, and performs follow up activities to verify continued employment.

Skills / Requirements

Knowledge of Skill Requirement:
Knowledge of: community resources, potential employers, and available jobs in the Miami and Homestead areas, and Chapman Partnership policies and procedures relating to residents.

Kind and length of experience: Minimum of five (5) years experience in job development for hard to serve population.

Skills required: Computer literate, bilingual English - Spanish and /or English - Creole preferred; good verbal and written communications skills, customer service oriented. Excellent time management, organizational and interpersonal skills a must.

Traits required: Ability to be culturally sensitive to diverse resident populations. Ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships with public and private agencies, the general public and clients. Highly motivated, ethical, and ability to demonstrate appropriate initiative required. Able to communicate equally well with homeless individuals and executive level employers.

Education required: Bachelors degree in Social Services, Human Services or related field from an accredited College or University, or additional equivalent experience.
