The Assistant In-Store Branch Manager is acting manager about 40-50% of the time. At other times, the assistant in-store branch manager will supervise & coordinate the activities of workers engaged in receiving & paying out money as well as explains products & services
Sales Management & Administration
Communicates performance expectations to each staff member & monitors performance to plans Coaches & encourages associates in the development of individual & team goals Coaches sales & service team members to deliver exceptional consultative sales Demonstrates performance of a sales leader Offers training opportunities to each associate including operational, sales, training, & product knowledge Ensures compliance with bank policies, procedures, & operational integrity; provides guidance & training to branch personnel on operating problems, exceptions, & adjustments Supervises staff to ensure accuracy Conducts periodic branch audits Provides information/reports on activities of the branch Provides facilities management Possesses knowledge of bank’s human resource policies & administer policies on an equity basis Acts as the liaison between associates & management Provides management with feedback regarding changing customer needs Schedules associates for in-store branch Provides current, direct, complete, actionable, positive & corrective feedback to subordinates Holds frequent development discussions Encourages continuous development of associates
Sales: The ability to recognize selling opportunities & effectively cross-sell bank products & services Speak with customers to explain available products & services Refers qualified customers to specialized sales forces Follows up on sales opportunities/prospects/refers prospect to appropriate department when necessary Reviews/evaluates applications for completeness & credit worthiness Customizes credit product to customer needs & specific situations Prospects proactively for new business through review of credit reports, new account applications, processing transactions, review of prize drawing slips etc Participates in sales, service, & products training meetings Introducing store customers to products & services through aisle selling, PA announcement etc Ability to expand customer base through in-depth knowledge of retail services, products & selling techniques Participates in cold call telephone sales Identify needs of existing & potential customers through effective questioning & listening techniques Apply technical/professional knowledge, interpersonal skills & sales methods to obtain customers commitment to ideas, services or products Cultivate relationships with store associates to garner referrals of customers within & outside the facility Initiate conversations with customers & prospects via the telephone Initiate conversations with customers/prospects in the store aisles & in the strip center area Possess knowledge of competitive products, practices & facilities in order to effectively sell bank products/services
Bank Operations: Receives checks & cash for deposit, verifies amount & examines checks for endorsement & customer balances Cashes checks & processes withdrawals; pays out money after verification of signatures & customer balances Counts, checks and packages coins & currency Enters customers’ transactions into computer to record transactions, & issues computer generated receipts Places holds on accounts for uncollected funds Balances cash drawer at the end of shift & compares totaled amounts with computer generated proof sheet; reports any discrepancies to the supervisor as necessary Monitors cash supply & sells/buys as needed to stay within audit standards. Check's nigh depository bags & records proper information on the financial institutions forms Assists in the bank by mail process Reports malfunctions of teller terminals & other equipment used at the teller station Issues traveler's checks, money orders, and US Bonds Ensures that the teller station is properly stocked with forms & supplies Receives mortgage, consumer loan & other payments & insures the payments match the balance due; processes payments into computer Assists with operations duties such as night drops, charge backs, reporting of money order & cashier's checks sales, morning balancing & vault balancing Maintains audit & security standards Adheres to Bank Operating Policies & Procedures Completes loan & supporting collateral documents Accepts and loads new account data & secures customer's signature on all appropriate forms Accepts wire transfers of funds Opens & closes retail location by following established security procedures

Education & Experience High School graduate or equivalent minimum Basic math proficiency & aptitude Demonstrated academic record of achievement Demonstrated record of achievement in social and/or extracurricular & leadership skills Post high school education and/or two years work experience preferred with one year being direct customer service experience Two years retail experience preferred.
