Auxiliary Youth Care Worker
Definition: Under direction of a supervisor, manages the general conduct and behavior of juvenile residents, the maintenance of discipline, and the custodial, life and social skills training, recreation, transportation, and housekeeping functions; does related work as required. The YCW 1 must make every attempt to minimize adverse affects of confinement by supporting the juvenile's physical, emotional, educational, and social development in an atmosphere, which is as nonthreatening as possible. Is on call to respond to emergencies. The Auxiliary Youth Care Worker has the same responsibilities except it is based on a campus-wide area instead of a specific cottage. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent and successful completion of a required training program. Skills / Requirements
Other Requirements:
Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in the state where the work site is located only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position. Experience: The position of Auxiliary Youth Care Worker requires some experience as an YCW I in cottages, or, in a correctional facility, juvenile services, or a similar setting. Important Notes
