Job: MEDICAL ASSISTANT- (PEDS)

Under the general direction of the Director of Nursing and the direct supervision of the Nursing Supervisor, incumbent is responsible for conducting general medical assisting duties to include assisting the medical providers, referrals and phlebotomy services.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
1. Assist the medical providers.
2. Take vital signs, measuring for chart growth recording, knowledge of immunizations/recording, assist in minor surgeries, EKG & vision checks.
3. Interpret
4. Clean & manage all equipment, i.e. scales, surgical equipment, ophthalmoscope, thermometers, etc.
5. Clean and stock exam rooms.
6. Record data for grant information.
7. Adhere to all safety and infection control policies.
8. Schedule follow up appointments, health maintenance and referral appointments.
9. Control flow of medical records and chart conversions and audits.
10. Other duties as assigned.

1. High School Diploma or GED, required.
2. Diploma in approved Medical Assisting program required
3. Certified Medical Assistant preferred
4. Experience as medical assistant required.
5. Computer literacy.
6. Demonstration of the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
7. Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
