Job: Engineer II – IV (One Position)

Located in Mid-Pinellas County Florida between the Gulf Beaches and Tampa Bay, the City of Largo has an immediate opening in its Engineering Services Division. The Engineering Services Division provides planning, design, consultant management, and construction management support for the capital improvement programs of the City of Largo sanitary sewer, stormwater, and roadway systems. The Division also provides engineering support for recreation, parks and community development projects, and plays a key role in the development review and sanitary sewer connection approval processes.

This position is primarily responsible for providing capital improvement project planning design and administration support for the roadway, drainage, sanitary sewer collection and treatment, and reclaimed water systems of the City of Largo. Responsibilities vary depending on Engineer level and may include: assisting with identification of future projects through monitoring regulatory developments, analyzing the infrastructure condition and responding to service expansion needs; conducting or coordinating alternatives analyses, design, plans production and cost estimation for capital improvement projects; managing the consultant selection process as well as negotiating scope and fee, and coordinating the review of consultant work; compilation of engineering reports and status updates to regulators and City of Largo Commission; and quality control and oversight of in-house design projects.

Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering and Engineer In Training (EIT) Certificate; Engineer II requires minimum 2 years experience in public works/utilities engineering; Engineer III requires minimum 4 years experience in public works/utilities engineering; Engineer IV requires minimum 7 years experience in public works/utilities engineering and Professional Engineer License; Salary range $43,243.20 – $91,104.00 Annually.
