Job Description

The Digital Marketing Brand Manager takes the lead responsibility for developing plans and executing projects and initiatives that support the broader short and long-term marketing strategy of the Brand. In collaboration with key business partners (e.g., agencies and centralized teams), he/she builds brand awareness and consideration in order to drive incremental, profitable guest visits.  Digital Marketing Brand Managers enlist others, such as his/her team, creative and media agencies, and vendor partners, in delivering projects that support the brand promise and drive the business. 

- Manages and executes brand marketing projects and initiatives by applying an understanding of consumer, market, and industry trends
- Converts brand strategies into action plans that deliver on marketing growth opportunities
- Develops and nurtures cross-functional relationships to exchange information and support ongoing projects and initiatives
- Oversees project plans; organizes, monitors, and controls projects to ensure engagement, commitment, and risk management
- Develops and implements new strategies to leverage market segments
- Monitors and analyzes key brand performance metrics  
- Develops and manages project timelines and calendars  
- Develops media strategies and plans to deliver on business objectives
- Develops briefs to provide ongoing communications support on project status to ensure leadership alignment  
- Manages and leverages vendor/agency relationships as needed  
- Assigns and delegates tasks to team members as appropriate  
- Coaches for performance by delivering performance-based and developmental feedback  
- Establishes and champions a positive, vibrant culture within the work group that is consistent with Darden’s values 
- Works with employees to establish annual Performance Management Plan (PMP) goals and provides feedback throughout the performance cycle
- Establishes short-term and long-term goals and strategic plans for the team
- Encourages knowledge-sharing, collaboration, and best-practice sharing among team members  
- Participates in talent review/succession planning and selection processes for positions within the department 
- Manages and coordinates marketing creative and initiatives for various marketing communications (e.g., in-restaurant merchandising, gift cards, coupons, on-line, FSI, etc.)
- Uses feedback from Darden teams (e.g., Operations, Consumer Insights) to ensure that new advertising/communication support operations excellence  
- Manages marketing project and initiative resources (e.g., tasks, contracts, budgets)
- Supports and champions brand equity guidelines- Manages the development of national advertising to build short-term business and long-term equity
- Ensures that product strategies and action plans are aligned with financial models and business models  

- 4+ years of relevant work experience with at least 2-3 years in a Brand Manager role
- Knowledge and proficiency in Brand Management, including consumer definition, situation assessment, financial analysis, and marketing strategy development
- Knowledge and proficiency in Brand Communications, including the ability to develop integrated communication plans and manage agencies/vendors
- Knowledge and comfort with the use of computers and various programs and information systems

Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field required; MBA strongly preferred

- Ability to adjust communication style such that it is effective with various audiences
- Ability to analyze and evaluate information communicate (verbal and written) with clarity in the business environment
- Ability to exercise appropriate judgment by using information and knowledge to make timely, effective decisions
- Ability to prioritize and re-prioritize various job activities/tasks, including the ability to multi-task when necessary    
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision

- Occasional travel required

- Previous experience in the Restaurant Company, Hospitality Company, Consumer Packaged Goods Company, or Advertising Agency
- Passion for food and hospitality
