Job Description

The Marketing Brand Manager – Product Innovations takes the lead responsibility for developing plans and executing projects and initiatives that support the broader short and long-term marketing strategy of the Brand. In collaboration with key business partners (e.g., Consumer Insights, Finance, and Operations), he/she ensures that the brand remains relevant and encourages additional visits through product and menu development. Marketing Brand Managers enlist others, such as vendor partners, agencies, and his/her team, in delivering projects that support the brand promise.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages and executes brand marketing projects and initiatives by applying an understanding of consumer, market, and industry trends
- Converts brand strategies into action plans that deliver on marketing growth opportunities
- Develops and nurtures cross-functional relationships to exchange information and support ongoing projects and initiatives
- Oversees project plans; organizes, monitors, and controls projects to ensure engagement, commitment, and risk management
- Develops and implements new strategies to leverage market segments
- Monitors and analyzes key brand performance metrics  
- Develops and manages project timelines and calendars  
- Develops plans to deliver on business objectives
- Develops food and creative briefs for both external and internal partners
- Manages and leverages vendor/agency relationships as needed  
- Assigns and delegates tasks to team members as appropriate  
- Coaches for performance by delivering performance-based and developmental feedback  
- Establishes and champions a positive, vibrant culture within the work group that is consistent with Darden’s values 
- Works with employees to establish annual Performance Management Plan (PMP) goals and provides feedback throughout the performance cycle
- Establishes short-term and long-term goals and strategic plans for the team
- Encourages knowledge-sharing, collaboration, and best-practice sharing among team members  
- Participates in talent review/succession planning and selection processes for positions within the department 
- Manages marketing project and initiative resources (e.g., tasks, contracts, budgets)
- Manages and leverages agency and/or vendor partners  
- Supports and champions brand equity guidelines
- Ensures that product strategies and action plans are aligned with financial models and business models  

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- 4+ years of relevant work experience with at least 2-3 years in a Marketing Brand Manager role
- Knowledge and proficiency in Brand Management, including consumer definition, situation assessment, financial analysis, and marketing strategy development
- Knowledge and proficiency in Product Innovation, including idea generation, concept development, and product optimization
- Knowledge and comfort with the use of computers and various programs and information systems

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field required; MBA strongly preferred

- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Previous experience in the Restaurant Company, Hospitality Company, Consumer Packaged Goods Company, or Advertising Agency
- Passion for food and hospitality
