Position Expectations

Position Title: Developer Curriculum, College of Airports

Position Summary

The Developer is responsible for the development, enhancement and maintenance of curricula and courseware in support of training of all Airports Crewmembers and Airports Business Partners.

Essential Responsibilities

Incorporate adult learning principles and creative training techniques into course design and development

Design, develop, evaluate, revise, and enhance training curricula and courseware including Crewmember materials, facilitators’ guides, job aids, etc.
Develop course objectives and curricula structure in coordination with content specialists and/or Crewleaders
Develop learning tools that extend beyond the classroom experience, including e-learning, computer based training, instructional videos, etc.
Coordinate and assist with the execution of video and media productions
Monitor policy and procedural updates, update applicable training content as needed, and ensure training programs are compliant to policies and federal regulations
Conduct research to ensure curricula content is thorough, relevant, accurate, and current with respect to JetBlue policies and procedures
Revise/develop training curricula to clearly communicate learning strategies, interactive strategies, content outline, flow, and overall project scope
Develop evaluation tools for measuring course effectiveness, evaluate course content against course objectives, and conduct needs analyses and training/feedback evaluation
Edit course materials for content, accuracy, grammatical correctness, consistency, format, layout and compliance with Company standards
Manage relationships with Airports Training Instructors, other business units within JetBlue University, frontline operational counterpart (Airport Standards and Programs), and BlueCity leadership
Conduct training program Alpha, Beta and Train-the-Trainer sessions
Support delivery of training as needed
Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma

Two (2) years of experience with adult learning principles and curriculum development
Experience in developing courses using alternative delivery methods (computer based training, instructional videos, etc.)
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and Internet Explorer
Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
Flexible and able to work at any time, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree

Proficient with Articulate suite
Applied knowledge in the instructional design field
Able to design highly interactive, motivating, and instructionally sound programs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Able to work independently and work well with others as part of a team
Able to work with minimal supervision, under tight time constraints, and meet stringent deadlines
Able to adapt to changing information quickly
Strong organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail
Knowledge of learning theories
Familiarity with training metrics, databases, and evaluation methodologies
Excellent organizational and project management skills
Able to work with all levels of management throughout Company

Crewmember Expectations

Regular attendance and punctuality

Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
Well-groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance
When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun
Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards
Identify safety concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))
