Position Title Postdoctoral Associate
Position Summary:

This appointment is to work within the laboratory of Professor Griffin and will focus on the development of chemical biology and proteomic approaches to understanding protein structure function. The principle focus will be development and application of hydrogen/deuterium exchange (HDX) and cross-linking (XL) mass spectrometry to aid in understanding the mechanism of activation of receptors by ligands, PTMs and coregulatory interactions. The candidate is expected to contribute to all aspects of the project including cloning, expression and purification of target proteins, as well as operation of the mass spectrometry platforms (automation, chromatography, mass spectrometry and data processing). The candidate will also be involved in functional studies involving genomic screens and mutagenesis.

Physical Requirements:

This position works in a laboratory or vivarium environment. Further details of the physical requirements of established essential functions for this position will be addressed/discussed during the interview process.

Basic Qualifications:

Must possess a doctoral degree. A pending doctoral degree may be considered with approval of the Principal Investigator.

Preferred Qualifications:

PhD in Chemistry/Biochemistry
