Join the Lockheed Martin team in support of the US Navy's Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Program. For over 60 years, the FBM team has supported the Navy’s mission to provide affordable and credible strategic deterrence. As part of the team, you will help keep this nation and our allies secure.

- Work as a Battery Engineer along with Certified Principal Engineer responsible for the FBM D5 Primary Electronics Battery (PEB) as well as the Secondary Batteries for the Test Missile Kit (TMK).

- Participate in production and requalification activities, deployed system support, maintenance of component/system specifications, and ownership of design, analysis, and interface documentation

- Act as the technical interface between LMSSC and the customer and between LMSSC and subcontractors

- Provide technical guidance and direction to the subcontractor and work with FBM teams to ensure successful integration of the PEB and TMK in the D5 missile system

- Ensure compliance of the product with all program requirements.

- Provide spec and drawing maintenance; technical evaluation of design and requirements verification; technical evaluations for fiscal year proposals

- Pedigree and quality documentation closure, lead failure review teams to closure, vet critical tests and analyses; take part in status reviews and Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs).

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education

- Experience in the development, manufacture and/or testing of batteries or electronic packages.

- You will need to obtain a Secret clearance, thus US Citizenship is required

Desired skills
- 2 years experience as an engineer, with a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or other related engineering degree or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree

- Experience with primary thermal batteries and/or manually activated silver-zinc batteries

- Experience performing system electrical capacity analysis to determine battery sizing

- Experience preforming a battery voltage analysis to verify meeting system voltage requirements

- Working knowledge of battery qualification requirements

- Previous experience as a CPE of batteries

- Experience working with Subcontractors and sub-tier suppliers

- Experience with performing formal root cause analysis

- Experience working with USG customer
