Job Description

  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Rockledge, FL, USA
  • Full Time

Position Summary

We are seeking thermal control engineers to support a wide range of existing projects and to ultimately lead new and innovative research programs.  Mainstream capitalizes on advanced cooling technologies, such as microchannel cooling, jet impingement, induced cavitation, synthetic jets, and spray cooling to provide high heat flux cooling solutions for laser weapons, power electronics, and hypersonic vehicle components.  We integrate our products into both active (e.g. vapor-compression refrigeration, Stirling cryocooler) and passive (e.g. oscillating heat pipe, copper-diamond heat spreader) systems. You will be responsible for transitioning technology from basic research to production and will therefore work in all aspects of R&D including design, numerical modeling and simulation, prototyping, test and evaluation, and product release.

We are interested in mechanical engineers with specific experience in the following areas:

  • Solid understanding of heat transfer, thermodynamics and fluid dynamics
  • Problem solvers; people that can innovate solutions to real world problems
  • Hands-on laboratory test experience
  • Experience with temperature, pressure, flow and other sensors
  • CFD modeling (ANSYS/FLUENT) experience is a plus

Position Requirements

  • MSME or PhD
  • US Citizenship required due to strict ITAR regulations
  • GPA not less than 3.3 for all degrees
  • 1 year minimum experience in internships or industry
