Recovery Peer Specialist-CAT (prefer Certification), Hendry/Glades Counties SIGN ON BONUS!
Position Summary: SIGN ON BONUS! This member of the multidisciplinary team has responsibility to carry out rehabilitation and support functions and assists in treatment under the clinical supervision of staff with professional degrees. If successful candidate is not certified upon hire, it is required they achieve their Certification within the first year of employment.
Minimum Qualifications: A Mental Health Consumer with 2 years' college education in Human Services area, or 2 years' college education in unrelated field with one year experience working with youth with mental disorders, or high school diploma with one year experience working with youth with mental disorders. Should be certified or working toward certification within a year of hire date. May have related training with one year experience working with youth with mental illnesses. "Working" includes volunteer hours. Valid Florida Driver's License with good driving record and valid auto insurance.
Special Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Knowledge and understanding of the characteristics of youth with mental health issues, their families, and family systems. Willingness to work on a comprehensive treatment team. Highly motivated, self-directed, willing to work a variety of hours, including evening and on-call.
Essential Functions/Job Duties:
Develop therapeutic rapport with clients and demonstrate a recovery oriented approach. Facilitate individual and group session's aid in development of therapeutic relationships.
Provide case management services to an assigned group of individuals. Assume primary responsibility for assessing family strengths, challenges, and needs.
Obtains collateral information and collaborates with clients' families, support systems, outside providers and involved agencies regarding progress in treatment and continuity of care.
Demonstrate knowledge of community resources to assist individuals in accessing and learning about related community resources and ancillary services.
Referrals - Complete, document and follow up on referrals including collateral contacts, discharges, etc.
Other Related Duties - Peer reviews, consultation, treatment team meetings, collaborate with community partners, adhere to departmental and agency policies, procedure, and processes, state reporting, etc.
Work Environment/Physical Demands: This position is located in LaBelle. Peer Specialists are required to work in the field in different environments. If employed in hospitals/offices, work in clean, well-lit establishments, but they can be exposed to various health conditions. Sits, stands, bends, lifts and moves intermittently during work hours. Is subject to frequent interruptions. Is involved with clients, residents, family members, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., in a behavioral health setting. The job can be very challenging.
Position Type, Expected Hours of Work and Travel: This is a full time, 40 hour position. This position requires flexibility in work hours to include some evening and weekend hours as needed. Frequent local travel is required. On call rotation is required.#ind#
