Northrop Grumman is currently looking to grow the Vehicle Engineering team at the Manned Aircraft Design Center of Excellence located in Melbourne Florida.  The Vehicle Engineering team includes the following skillsets:

Vehicle Structures:

  • Structural Design Engineers (Metallics and Composites)
  • Structural Analysis Engineers (Metallics and Composites)
  • Liaison Engineers
  • Materials and Processes Engineers

Vehicle Subsystems and Integration:

  • Mechanical System Engineers (Mechanisms, Landing Gear)
  • ECS, Fuel, Hydraulic, Fire Protection Architects and Analysts
  • Thermal Analysis Engineers
  • Subsystem Design Engineers (Transport Elements, Equipment Integration)
  • Crew Station/Crew Systems Engineers
  • Electrical Design Engineers (EPS, Cable Harness, Electrical Lines)
  • Vehicle Management System Engineers

Flight Sciences:

  • Aircraft Configuration Engineers
  • Propulsion System Engineers
  • Loads and Dynamics Engineers
  • Mass Properties Engineers
  • Aerodynamics Engineers
  • Guidance, Navigation and Control Engineers

Depending on the skillset identified, the successful candidate will have experience with design, analysis, architecture of aircraft structure and subsystems, requirements develop and decomposition, supplier management and hardware procurement, system test plan development and functional checkout and other integration activities.

Basic Qualifications: 

Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of relevant engineering experience. 

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret or Top Secret Clearance as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Preferred Qualifications: 

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineer preferred.

Experience with industry standard design tools and processes including NX Solid Modeling

Proficiency with TeamCenter.

Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.

An active U.S. Government security clearance at the DoD Secret level or higher with the ability to obtain Special Program access.
