Position Overview: This position is responsible for providing daily case management, familial and crisis counseling and leads psycho-educational groups by performing the following duties:
Role and Responsibilities
• Counsels girls whose behavior, school progress, or mental or physical condition indicates need for assistance.
• Consults with parents, teachers, and other agency personnel to determine causes of problems and effect solutions.
• Attends field trips and other extracurricular activities as required.
• Provides social and skill building educational materials; teaches individual and community responsibility.
• Provides support and direction for girls participating in the program.
• Works in partnership with girls and their families to find a common approach to problem solving, crisis counseling and intervention.
• Provides counseling and peer mediation in crisis situations.
• Facilitates psycho-educational groups.
• Ensures the integration of the Six Developmental Domains and Gender Responsive programming in daily practices.
• Prepares for and participates in care review meetings.
• Prepares for and participates in monthly parent/guardian meetings.
• Sources outside services and ensures the services are responsive to the individual assessment of the girls.
• Ensures girls are transported and cared for in a safe environment (including escorting to bus stop), if needed and is based on the individual Center needs.
• Uses ETO to document in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with PACE policies and regulatory agency standards.
• Develops the Individual Treatment Plans (ITP)
• Transports girls as needed to complete job requirement.
• Participates in the intake interview to assess the needs of each girl and family, collaborates with in-take team.
• Coordinates care management and referral services for students and families during program enrollment.


Requirements
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Required
• Bachelor’s Degree from four-year College or University (Preferred major in Social Work, Psychology, and Mental Health, Counseling or a related field)
• Minimum two years prior experience preferred.
• Knowledge of case management practices.
• Excellent individual, group and family counseling and crisis management skills
• Proficiency in computer skills, database management and/or office software
• Current Florida driver’s license
Other Requirements
• Must adhere to Agency Values and Principles.
• Upholds the ethical standards of the Agency and 6B-1.001 Code of Ethics of the Education Profession in Florida.
• Follows policies and procedures of the Agency
• Must work evenings and weekends as required to fulfill workload requirements.
• Must be able to travel by automobile, plane, train, etc.; occasional overnight travel may be required
Preferred
• Knowledge of laws relating to children and families
• Experience working with at-risk youth
