The incumbent in this position is responsible for supporting dental care delivery services offered by the Seminole Tribe of Florida's Health Department. The individual prepares treatment room, patients, instruments, and materials; provides chair side assistance to the Dentist by delivering instruments and materials; instructs patients in oral hygiene and plaque control programs; cleans and maintains all dental instruments and equipment; and orders offices supplies. The incumbent in this position is also responsible for providing routine clerical support to the Dental Program within the Seminole Tribe of Florida's Health Department. The individual provides excellent customer service to all patients including Tribal Members requesting Dental Services. Greets patients as they enter and exit office/clinic, provides necessary forms and paperwork to be competed; answers telephone and provides accurate information to callers and schedules and confirms appointments. High School Diploma or equivalent GED is required. Formal training in an accredited Dental Assistance program with prior experience treating pediatric dental patients is required. A minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Dental Assistant is required. Knowledge of medical and dental terminology is required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and State of Florida Dental Radiographer Certification is required. Certification for Dental Assistant (CDA) expanded functions is highly preferred. Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Must demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Must have the ability to travel and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
