Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing supervisory and administrative assistance to the Fitness Site Supervisor within the Seminole Tribe of Florida's Recreation Department. This individual provides fitness counseling and services to all age groups and has the ability to focus on community specific population needs as requested. The incumbent assists in provision of training to Fitness Specialist I. High School Diploma or equivalent GED is required. Bachelor's degree in Physical education, Exercise Science, Health Education or a related field is preferred. A minimum of three (3) years experience as a personal trainer, and/or in group exercise instruction. Experience in lieu of education may be considered. Candidate must hold a current certification by American College Sports Medicine (ACSM), American Council on Exercise (ACE), Aerobics & Fitness Association of America (AFAA), and National Strength & Condition Association (NSCA) or approved equivalent educational organization and demonstrated knowledge of fitness programming for diverse populations. Current CPR and First Aid certification is required. Possession of a valid State of Florida Driver's License is a requirement for this job. Must demonstrate excellent organizational, interpersonal skills and communication skills. Proficiency computer skills utilizing Microsoft Software packages are required. Must have the ability to travel and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
