Overview

At Southeastern, we are always looking for talented, hardworking individuals who want to become leaders within our company. One of the ways to accomplish that is through our Operations Advanced Management Trainee Program. This is an entry level training position and consists of an intensive customized 16-week training program designed to prepare you for your initial role in an Assistant Manager or Operations Manager position. Under the direction of a mentor, the primary responsibility of a Management Trainee is to learn the basic principles of the transportation industry, efficient cross-dock operations, and effective leadership communication and relationship building skills.

Responsibilities

What you’ll do on a typical day

  • Complete the leadership training program requiring guided, independent study
  • Interface with appropriate Support Center and Service Center associates in the completion of various aspects of the training program on a daily basis
  • Accompany and observe an Account Manager during customer sales calls
  • Accompany drivers on local delivery routes to garner an understanding of the freight delivery process on occasion

Qualifications

Here are the key things you will need to have

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Transportation or Logistics
  • At least 2 years of LTL industry or 4 years of related business experience
  • Must have an acceptable driving history that meets Southeastern standards
  • Ability and willingness to relocate
  • Strong verbal, written, listening, and communication skills
  • Ability to be committed to teamwork within all other functional areas
  • Ability to remain accountable for results
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and appearance
  • Basic computer skills
  • A very strong work ethic
