Job Description and Requirements
POSITION: Technical Intern
Synopsys is a worldwide leading supplier of horizontal IP which is used by our customers to design semiconductor integrated circuits. The product portfolio includes IP components and subsystems for ARC processors, EV processors for embedded vision, USB, DDR, Ethernet and many more.
We are looking for a talented student with a strong passion in embedded systems, outstanding C and C++ programming skills and desire to check what’s inside of modern portable devices. Candidate will work as a Subsystems Group Technical Intern in Saint-Petersburg office and will be responsible for explorations and implementations in area of HW abstraction layer for verification platform independent tests.

Key responsibilities:
  • Take part in creation of multi-platform verification environment
  • Implement HAL classes for a range of peripheral interfaces
  • Implement basic functionality laying underneath common peripheral tests
  • Support ongoing Subsystems project needs within the peripherals verification environment
Requirements (MUST):
  • Understanding of basic C++ programing concepts and practical experience of C++ and pure C programming
  • Understanding of low-level embedded software verification approaches
  • Basic scripting skills: Unix Shell, Perl, Python
  • Understanding of professional SW development methodologies (bug-tracking, version control, code review systems)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
Helpful qualifications:
  • Understanding of embedded microprocessor or DSP architecture
  • Assembly programming skills for embedded systems
  • Basic understanding of technologies and algorithms in Security domain
  • Familiarity with at least one typical embedded application domain (IoT, multimedia, communications, etc.)
  • Experience with SGE or other clustering technology
