MAJOR FUNCTION: The Teacher Aide position is a grant funded position that is housed within the Central Florida Reception Center in Orlando, FL. The Teacher Aide is primarily responsible for providing small group and individual instruction as directed by the academic or vocational teacher. The position is also responsible for serving as the aide for Special Education Teachers. These duties include, but are not limited to: maintaining program records, classroom grades, membership rolls, attendance calendars, grading tests, recording test results and maintain classroom supplies and equipment.

MINIMUM TRAINING/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or its equivalent and have knowledge or experience in working with students.

SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS WILL DEMONSTRATE THE FOLLOWING: Knowledge of basic accounting principles. Knowledge of student record keeping principles. Skills in typing with accuracy and speed using a typewriter or personal computer. Skills in using a calculator. Skills in operating personal computer software to include, but limited to word processing, data bases, spreadsheets, etc. Skills in operating a motor vehicle safely. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to work with others. Ability to work independently and use good judgment. Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments. Ability to work with users of varying technical expertise.
